Introduction

Domestic violence is a pervasive issues in the united states with

• 1 in 4 women endure severe forms of intimate partner violence
• 1 in 3 women face physical violence from their intimate partners.
• and 1 in 7 sustaining injuries as a result.

Tragically, abusers frequently isolate their victims, closely monitoring their communication channels, such as social media, calls, and texts. This surveillance severely limits victims' access to support systems during critical moments of urgent need.

Problem Statement

Women trapped in domestic violence situations often lack safe and discreet methods to seek help, as abusers closely monitor their phone activity and demand access to their devices. This not only increases the risk of harm but also endangers their lives. Traditional methods of seeking help, such as phone calls and text messaging, can further escalate the situation by alerting the abuser.

Solution Overview

Our solution was to create a safety app cleverly disguised as an e-commerce platform, leveraging generative AI to customize its appearance based on user shopping habits and to keep a continuously changeable UI for keeping this app a secret. It features a concealed help button, to connect users to emergency services and trusted contacts with real-time location and assistance messages, empowering women in need.
